Photography professor leaves ‘legacy’

School of Communication honors Patrick Millard’s work, program contributions

In spring 2010, with the growth of Point Park University's photojournalism and photography programs grew a need for the School of Communication to hire a new faculty member to take on the responsibilities that accompanied the expansions. Camelia Montoy has always dreamed of studying abroad in London in order to learn about other countries. However, a Point Park University policy change for the spring 2011 would have forced her to forfeit over $5,000 of her financial aid if she took that course of study, repressing her opportunity.

University’s second largest benefactor dies

George Rowland White, the single largest benefactor to Point Park University and the man behind the well-known initials "GRW," died on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at Allegheny General Hospital. He was 82.

Students should appreciate life, fight back against seasonal woes

It can be hard to find happiness in a world that can be frigid and selfish. I find that most people are looking out for themselves, aiming to succeed and not afraid to do what they can to make it to the top. While I celebrate motivation and drive toward the working world, I've witnessed love and care take a backseat as stress and irritability take over in full swing.  Whenever I feel down and uninspired I turn to friends and family for a quick fix of giggles and warmth but it seems that as of late a sadness  is evident and has even spread throughout campus.

2012-13 brings new conference

Starting in the 2012-2013 season, Point Park University athletics will be leaving the American Mideast Conference and become a part of the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
